Cathy Laub

Of utmost importance to me is building a strong therapeutic alliance that sets the stage for change. I use a variety of approaches to therapy including client-centered, child-centered play therapy, Attachment-Based Theory, Positive Psychology, Emotion-Focused, Interpersonal Process, EMDR, and CBT. I deeply appreciate working with my clients and learning effective and powerful ways to address problems that can stunt and paralyze a person’s growth and ability to function. It is exciting and rewarding to see people of all ages overcome obstacles that lead to healing and flourishing. I believe that we often focus on the negative, but it is just as essential to know, understand, and cultivate our strengths and resources. This is something I pursue with all of my clients.

My Story

I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Huntington University. I enjoy working with clients above the age of 4. I have a strong interest in working with trauma and attachment issues. I have experience working with grief, traumatic grief, anxiety, depression, adoption, PTSD, divorce, relationship issues, medical trauma, self-harm, family of origin issues, family members with mental illness, faith issues, assertiveness skills, sexual abuse, and physical, mental, and emotional abuse.

I am a mother of 6 with only 2 kids left at home. I have 3 dogs and love to cultivate relationships, travel, read, garden, and kayak.
