Lainie Holder MA, LMHCA
I believe that all of us have a deep desire to be known and a deep fear of being vulnerable enough to be known. My desire is to create a space where you feel safe enough to allow yourself to be known! Going to therapy is a vulnerable, humbling, and often scary step, and I am honored to get to hold such a sacred space. People come to counseling for a variety of reasons, whether they want to process a recent event, unpack wounds from childhood, or grow in self awareness. No matter what your goal is or what your history is, I believe that redemption and healing are possible.
My Story
I have a master’s degree in Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have experience working with individuals dealing with grief, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I enjoy counseling adults, teens, and children. As a mother of two, I love working with individuals as they walk through pregnancy, infertility, and postpartum.
I meet each person where they are and believe that you are the expert and creator of your own story. In sessions, I utilize Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Sand Tray Therapy, and I take a holistic approach in the counseling process. I like to incorporate art in sessions and believe in the power of creativity. I am a Christian and love incorporating faith into counseling when that is desired by the client.
In my spare time I enjoy painting, dancing, yoga, being outside, and spending time with my family!
I am currently accepting new clients for daytime appointments. If you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment, please email me at lainie@ischcounseling.com.
