Brett Holder MA, LMFTA
Individual and Couples Counseling

I chose the field of counseling because I believe there is power in being vulnerable and in sharing emotions, even when it’s difficult, uncomfortable, and scary! I want to walk alongside you as you process, heal, learn, and grow. I don't just want to help you manage your symptoms - I want to help you understand them and appreciate the ways they have protected you in the past, and learn new ways to get your needs met today. My goal is to help you trust in yourself and others again, feel joy again, and find hope again. I believe healing is possible, no matter what your story is.

My Story

I have a master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have experience counseling children (ages 8 and above), teens, couples, and individuals. When working with individuals, I primarily utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Attachment Theory. When working with couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. I have completed an Externship in EFT and have completed Level 1 and 2 Training in the Gottman Method. I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and past traumas, and with couples dealing with issues surrounding infidelity, communication, and intimacy.

When I’m not working, I enjoy playing volleyball, running, eating ice cream, and going on walks with my wife. My faith and my family are very important to me, and I love to laugh and spend time with others!

I currently have daytime openings for new clients and have a waitlist for my evening availability. If you have any questions or would like to request an appointment, please email brett@ischcounseling.com.
